The FICA Tax Refund service is for J-1 visa participants who should not have Social Security or Medicare taxes withheld, but whose employers deducted them by mistake. We prepare the required paper-filed refund claim, and the IRS will mail a refund check directly to you. Please note that FICA refunds are processed only by mail and can take up to 12 monthsfor the IRS to complete.
